How to Increase Your Domain Authority Score in 30 Days

Let us get right to the point. How to Increase Your Website’s Domain Authority in 30 Days? As mentioned earlier, DA is hard to get, unlike the instant improvements you see on Google SERPs after tweaking your content or constructing backlinks. It requires some time for Domain Authority to evaluate your work. Still, there are a few techniques you really should try to raise the DA of your website.

If you follow these best practices, you can ensure that your website’s DA increases in 30 days or less. So, here is the strategy that you can use.

Step1: Create High-Quality Engaging Content

Before you begin on-page and off-page SEO optimization, ensure that you have content worth linking to. Spend time creating long-form content. Long-form content has been shown to have a higher chance of attracting natural backlinks.

Furthermore, this type of content can rank for a greater number of keywords on search engines. A high on-page SEO score is usually associated with content that attracts natural backlinks. As a result, the page is highly optimized for the target keywords and has the domain strength to rank high on Google Search.

As more keywords begin to rank on Google, Moz’s Machine Learning Algorithm will begin picking up the keyword from the Google SERP and indexing it. Your DA score will begin to improve gradually at this point.

Step 2: Link Audit

As you create linkable content, have your team perform a thorough link audit of your website. This step is only applicable to websites that are at least three to four months old. You can identify the links pointing to your website using Moz Link Research.

You can also see how many links were gained and how many were lost over time. Select “Linking Domains” from the Link Research tool to see a list of domains that are linking back to your website. The same information can be found in the Search Console report. However, because we are working to improve your website’s DA, it is best to use the data provided by Moz.

Examine the spam score of each domain that links back to your website. The increase in the number of spammy domains is one of the primary reasons why the DA of websites is decreasing. Locate a website with a Spam Score greater than 30%.

These are websites that may have an impact on your website’s DA. This, however, is relative. If your website has a DA of 90 or higher, 85% of the links will be of very high quality. In such cases, a few high-quality spammy backlinks will not harm your DA.

That being said, if you have just started your website and have received less than 100 backlinks, you should consider removing links with a very high Spam Score because they have the potential to affect your website’s DA and SERP rankings. Export the spammy domains from the Moz tool to create a list of the links you want to remove.

Step 3: Spammy Backlink Removal

Before you disavow the spammy domains, try to contact the individual bloggers and website owners and request that the links be removed. The disavowed links cannot be detected because Moz is not affiliated with Google. Only when the positions and number of keywords ranking on Google increase will the impact be felt.

Step 4: Disavow Toxic Backlinks

Make a list of domains with high spam scores and use the Disavow Tool to ask Google not to consider backlinks from these domains for ranking purposes. It should be noted that the Disavow process is not instant; Google must perform extensive crawling and indexing before all links are disavowed.

This process, according to Google, can take up to six months to complete. For smaller websites with fewer referring domains to disavow, the process will be much faster, and visible changes in organic rankings will occur within a few weeks.

Step 5: On-page SEO Audit

Building backlinks from high Domain Authority websites is just as important as displaying a website free of errors. However, there are many on-page SEO mistakes that the naked eye cannot detect. Use Moz Site Crawl, SEMRush, or free SEO tools like Screaming Frog to assist you with the on-page SEO audit.

The Moz On-page Grader is recommended for websites with a few pages. Determine the on-page SEO issues that are lurking within the site and the critical solutions for increasing Domain Authority.

Step 6: Technical SEO Audit

Even though the lines between on-page and technical SEO are becoming increasingly blurred, we are including it as a step because of its importance in establishing Domain Authority. A website that has a technical issue has no chance of ranking high in Google SERPs. This means that the number of natural backlinks you receive will be significantly reduced.

At the end of the day, this results in your Moz Domain Authority not increasing. To ensure that your website is technically sound, use the Moz Site Crawl tool. This tool does an excellent job of analyzing what truly matters to improve your DA. This includes a list of redirect errors, Robots.txt errors, slow load time, canonical errors, and a slew of 5xx errors that are critical to Google ranking.

This tool not only lists the errors, but also provides numerous solutions to each of these errors.

Step 7: Fix On-page and Technical Issues

During this stage, you must ensure that all on-page and technical SEO errors are addressed and corrected. Once you are certain that all of the errors have been corrected, perform another round of auditing for reassurance. People will love linking back to you now that you have a perfect website.

Step 8: Start Link Building Activities

It is time to begin the most important step in increasing the Domain Authority of your website. Determine at least six long-form pieces of content on your website that people will enjoy linking to. Find the low-hanging fruit (keywords with a high search volume that are on the second and third pages of Google SERP). Meanwhile, have a team on the lookout for potential websites to contact. To conduct successful blogger outreach, follow the steps outlined here.

Other link-building strategies, such as broken link building, link reclamation, unlinked brand mentions, and so on, can also be used to build high-quality backlinks. However, if you are doing blogger outreach, which is currently the most effective link-building strategy, make sure you have a series of well-crafted outreach emails prepared.

The success of blogger outreach campaigns is heavily reliant on the outreach emails sent to prospective website owners. Ensure that the most relevant long-form content is used as the email’s reference. Also, make sure to send follow-up emails to prospects as needed.

NB: Sending 500-800 outreach emails is required for a relatively new website to earn 100 high-quality backlinks.

Step 9: Create Outreach Content

When you start receiving positive responses to your outreach email, you may run out of resources to meet all of the content requirements. However, if you want to improve your Domain Authority in a month, you must make the links live as soon as possible.

Outsource your content writing needs to ensure you keep up the pace. Make sure to provide clear guidelines for content written by freelancers or outsourcing agencies. Most websites that accept guest posting will have a set of rules. It is preferable to share this with the writers so that there is little chance of content rejection.

Furthermore, some websites have specific guidelines for link placement; try to follow these. The best way to boost your Domain Authority is to build links to the high-quality long-form articles you have already created. Use the low-hanging keywords as anchors for the backlinks you will build.

This will ensure that the blog remains at the top of Google for high-volume keywords, and more people will visit the page. This way, you can also gain natural backlinks, which will boost your website’s Domain Authority.

Step 10: Share Content Via Social Media

Share the content across all of your social channels as soon as it goes live on the outreach website. You can also ask the publisher to do the same and include the article in the next newsletter so that more people will find it interesting and link back to you.

Step 11: Repeat Link Building and Content Strategy

Repeat the link-building and content-creation activities for the next few months, with the goal of earning 200+ high-quality backlinks in two months.

Within the first 30 days, you will notice an increase in your website’s Moz Domain Authority Score, and the DA score will continue to rise as you do more blogger outreach. It is important to note that achieving DA 100 should not be your top priority.

Your top priority should be to outperform your closest competitors in terms of DA. If you have a higher Moz Domain Authority than your competitors, it is a clear indication that you are ranking higher on Google and other search engines.
