McDonald’s Reveals The Return Of Its Biggest Burgers Ever

This 2024, McDonald’s isn’t playing around. After an extended four-year absence from the menu, the Double Big Mac made a quiet announcement on Tuesday.

One of the most well-known fast-food franchises in the world is the McDonald’s corporation. With almost 40,000 locations in more than 100 countries, the restaurant’s enormous yellow “M” emblem is well-known all over the world. The Big Mac, fries, chicken nuggets, and an array of breakfast options are among the fast food chain’s best-known offerings. McDonald’s feeds more than 70 million customers daily, brings in over 20 billion dollars annually and sells 80 burgers per second.

The enormous Double Big Mac will be returned on January 24 for a brief period at certain restaurants around the US, according to the company’s Menu Spotter.

The Menu Spotter said, “The Double Big Mac is double the fun with four 100% all-beef patties and more Big Mac sauce, of course.” “It’s layered between a fluffy sesame seed bun and topped with pickles, crisp shredded lettuce, finely chopped onions, and a slice of American cheese.”

To even things out, the Double Big Mac and the lesser Little Mac were initially released in March 2020. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the Little Mac will be making a comeback this time around because the company doesn’t seem to be prioritizing smaller, bite-sized items.

In an interview with CNN on December 6, McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski hinted at the possible reintroduction of the Double Big Mac (as well as other bigger-than-life inventions) by saying, “In the U.S., in some markets, around the world, having a larger burger is an opportunity.”  Kempczinski continued. “We’re working on that … that is something that you should expect in the future.”

Even though McDonald’s claims that the Double Big Mac is only available for a short duration if it proves to be popular, it may be added to the menu permanently. At an investment presentation, CNN reported that Jo Sempels, the president of McDonald’s International Developmental Licensed regions, disclosed the company’s intention to test ideas in certain regions before expanding the use of successful concepts.

“The large beef burger customer is an unmet need that presents a significant opportunity to drive future growth in beef. This customer has a desire for larger, high-quality burgers that fill them up and are delivered conveniently and cost-effectively,” Sempels continued.

The new Double Big Mac’s pricing was not released by McDonald’s, but a representative revealed that it varies depending on the area and is set by the individual locations. However, as Kempczinski pointed out, you shouldn’t be concerned about this big burger’s pricing being absurdly exorbitant. We believe we’ll be able to provide [customers] a huge burger that tastes amazing and is better value than anything they can get elsewhere, he told CNN.

The original McDonald’s was established in 1940 as a barbecue restaurant by the McDonald brothers. Using their Speedee Service System, they renamed it as a hamburger and milkshake restaurant in 1948. The fast-food system that is widely used in today’s globe was inspired by this one.
